Dog walking in the GRIT Freedom Chair

Pack your Freedom Chair and your pup into the car, head on out to your favorite dog-walking spot, and get to it! Whether taking your four-legged friend to a backyard trail, a state or national park, or some other destination altogether, know you’ll have the right equipment for the adventure.

Riders around the country use the GRIT Freedom Chair to explore and exercise with their dogs. Here are some of the reasons why:

  • The levers make the chair easier to push, so you get the leverage you need to conquer obstacles and keep up with your quick-moving canine.

  • The rugged, three-wheeled frame keeps you stable and in control. There are a quite a few mounting points for leashes, too.

  • The chair disassembles and fits in the trunk of a small car, making it easier than ever to get to the trailhead!

Riders who use the GRIT Freedom Chair to get out with their pets

Every home has a hike nearby—why not enjoy it? Whether scaling up thousands of feet of elevation, zipping along a rail trail, or rolling through a secluded desert path, the Freedom Chair will help get you and your pup there. Below are some Freedom Chair riders who love the fitness, the ascents, the views, and the absolute thrill of ditching indoor floors for a few blazed trails with their dogs!

Buddy and I walk everyday, wherever we want to go. The Freedom Chair can handle any terrain—from the sidewalk to the grass, over tree roots, you name it. Today, we took our longest single walk yet—2.4 miles! Buddy and I love to go to the Park Blocks with the Freedom Chair. It is great exercise and the grass is more pleasant for Buddy to walk on than the pavement. — Aisha, with Buddy

With my Freedom Chair, I'm able to take Cash on all sorts of adventures! Dogs don't want to stay on the pavement, and you shouldn't have to either! Dogs love to explore and the GRIT Freedom Chair allows you the opportunity to go out and explore along with them. — Nerissa, with Cash

My dog, Max, and I love to go for walks together in my GRIT Freedom Chair. As my health declined, it became harder and harder to get Max out for walks. We could only go to paved areas and when he wanted to sniff, he could only go as far as the leash would allow, while I stayed on the paved path. Now we can go on the grass and gravel paths together for optimal sniffing opportunities! — Hayden , with Max

When I was injured in 2011, my boxer Maryjane was only seven months old. Prior to my accident, I loved taking her on long walks to clear my head and give us both a good workout. I didn't think this would be possible, being wheelchair-bound, until I discovered the GRIT Freedom Chair. I can now take those walks with Maryjane, no matter the terrain, and we can spend much-needed quality time together. — Maggie, with Maryjane
